What Counts as Extended-Stay Parking

Every lot uses a slightly different cutoff, but in practice:

• Short-term: hours to a day or two — priced with steep hourly rates.
• Long-term: 3–14 days — billed at a daily rate.
• Extended-stay: 14+ days — still billed daily, but this is where cost differences between lots become significant and where planning matters most.

Battery & Starting

Modern cars have many always-on systems (keyless entry, alarm, telematics). If your car is older than ~5 years and has a weak battery, two weeks can be enough to leave it unable to start. Some options:

• Disconnect the battery negative terminal at drop-off (only if you're comfortable doing so).
• Keep a portable jump-starter in the trunk — it's a small, cheap insurance policy.
• At some valet lots, you can request a battery-check service on your return — ask when you book.

Trip Extensions & Early Returns

Long trips rarely end on exactly the scheduled day. Here's how ParkON bookings handle each scenario.

• Returning early. Most ParkON reservations don't refund unused days automatically — the lot has already held the space. If you know you'll be back more than 24 hours early, contact ParkON support before your trip and we can often adjust the reservation.
• Returning late. Extra days beyond your reservation are paid at the lot's posted daily rate at the gate on exit. No penalty for extension — but you'll pay the walk-up rate for those days, which is typically higher than the pre-booked rate.
• Cancellation. Full refund up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival. Inside 24 hours, refund is minus the service fee. After your scheduled arrival time, no refund.
